Location

The city of Surat is located in the southern part of Gujarat at 210 15’ N latitude and 720 52’ E longitude on the southern bank of the river, Tapti. The city forms a major urban core in the Ahmedabad-Mumbai regional corridor, centrally placed between both the settlements, at a distance of 260km. north of Mumbai and about 224km. south of Ahmedabad.

Bus Stand

Move over bus-stands. Surat now has designer 'queue sheds' with comfortable chairs and FM radio. And for now, in the absence of buses, these 'sheds' on Gaurav Path in Piplod have become a favourite haunt for Surtis.

Rail

Surat lies on the Mumbai - Delhi - Rail line.

Railway Stations

(SRT Code: SRN) is the main railway station in Surat Thani Province. It is located on S.R.T. Southern Railway line km. 635+106, on the east bank of Tapi River in Tha Kham town, Phun Phin district. Surat Thani Station first opened in 1915, and was originally named Phun Phin Station. The name was later changed to "Surat Thani Railway Station".
