This ancient port town is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The present day town was established by Rana Sartanji in 1785.
On the western coast of Saurashtra, Gujarat, lies the harbour city of Porbandar, better known as the birth-place (Janmabhoomi) of Gandhiji - The Father of The Nation.
