From Bangalore: If you are staying at Bison Wells, don't drive down since you can't go up to the resort in your car.The state transport corporation and a lot of private bus operators ply bus from Palani to major cities in Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tuticorin etc) and also to the neighboring Kerala(Palakkadu, Kochin).
Our lodging house is situated on the Palani Hill Temple, Opp. Boganathar Kudil, North (Ring) Giri Street opposite to the temple car parking place. It is about 1 km from Palani Bus stand (5 minutes drive)
Rail
From Bangalore: Nearest railhead: Kodaikanal Road (100 km/ 3 hrs) Best option TO Tuticorin Express (dep: Bangalore City 9.45 pm; arr: Kodaikanal Road 6.56 am). Take a pick-up from the Bison Wells Resort who, with prior notice, send a guide to bring you to the resort Best option FROM Bangalore Express (dep: Kodaikanal Road 8.35 pm; arr: Bangalore City 6.10 am). From Chennai:Nearest railhead: Kodaikanal Road (100 km/ 3 hrs) Best option TO Pandian Express (dep: Chennai Egmore 9.30 pm; arr: Kodaikanal Road 5.21 am. A taxi to Bison Wells takes about Rs 2,000, but it's best to ask for a pick-up from Bison Wells. If you get to Kodaikanal on your own, Bison Wells will charge Rs 1,000 from Kodaikanal for a drop to the resort Best option FROM Pandian Express (dep: Kodai Road 9.12 pm; arr: Chennai Egmore 5.30 am). Journey Time Road: 11 hrs from Bangalore Rail: 8 hrs + 3 hrs by road from Bangalore Train to Palani are available from Coimbatore, Pallakadu and Madurai. You can take a connection train from Dindugul, Coimbatore and MaduraiPalani can boast of a railway station - just 2 Kms away from the foot of the Palani Malai. The Palani railway station is mid way between Dindigul and Coimbatore.
