Bus Stand

The bus stand, to be constructed on the model of the Ukkadam bus stand in Coimbatore at a cost of Rs.25 lakh, will be operational in six months. Fifty bus services will be operated to the neighbouring States from here. The bus stand will have a multi-storey commercial complex. It will be constructed by the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC) under the Build, Own and Transfer (BoT) basis. V. Railway Stations

Palakkad Junction is a very important station of Southern Railway. Places like Pollachi, Dindigul and Madurai are connected by the meter gauge track starting from here. The trains on the meter gauge are like lifelines for the people of the district, bringing vegetables, fish and dairy products. The office of the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway is situated near Palghat Junction Railway Station. The trains coming from Tamil Nadu take diversion to north and South Kerala from Shoranur station in Palakkad District.
