Mussoorie, the 'Queen of Hills' perched at a height of 2000 meters is on e of the most popular hill resorts of India. It was founded in 1823, by caprain young, an adventurous British army officer. Mussoorie is well connected by road and is the 'gateway' to Yamunotri and Gangotri shrines. Nestled in the Garhwal range of the Himalayas, Mussoorie is part of the newly formed state of Uttaranchal. She offers beautiful views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks on the northeast and the Doon valley on the south.
