Joshimath is an overnight stay on the way from Rishikesh to Badrinath and the Valley pf Flowers. A pleasant little town with a useful bazaar. Located at the confluence of the Dhauli Ganga and Alaknanda rivers at Vishnupyayag, it is one of the four centers of learning established by the 9th Century sage Shankaracharya.
