Hazaribagh - हजारीबाग

Hazaribagh, literally meaning 'thousand gardens', is a fine health and hill resort, perched on the central plateau at a height of 2,019ft. The picturesque town surrounded by thickly wooded hills is also noted for its salubrious climate. Nestling in low hilly terrain, at an average altitude of 1800 ft. (615 meters) this 183.89 Sq. km the Hazaribagh National Park has an abundance of wild animals like the wild Boar, Sambar, Nilgai, Chital, Sloth Bear, tiger and Panthar. The 1970 census has established the presence of 14 tigers, 25 Panthers and 400 Sambars. Hazaribag is situated about 93 km from Ranchi above 2019 ft from sea level.
