The air can get a bit nippy, due to the proximity of the mountains. The ideal time for visiting Rishikesh and Haridwar is between May and November, when the Yatra routes open up and trekking is also possible in the upper reaches.

The temperatures in summer range from 16.9 degrees to 35.6 degrees Celsius and in the winter, from 28.3 degrees to as low as 10.6 degrees Celsius.

Climate

Though Haridwar is down in the plains, it is colled by the river Ganga and the snow peaks of the Himalayas Mountains. Summers can get hot though, with temperatures going up to 420 C. Winter nights are chilly, but in the daytime, a bright sun makes the weather very pleasant.
