Corbett Weather and Seasons

Best Seasons

Corbett Park can be visited all through the year, except the rainy season. Summer (April to June) is the ideal time for spotting animals, especially tigers and elephants. Winter months (November to March) are good for bird watching and to see the variety of flora. The park remains closed from 15 June to 15 November.

Climate

Summer

  • March-June, Hot & Humid
  • Temperatures - 32 deg C -46 deg C

    Monsoon

  • July-October, Moderately heavy rainfall
  • Annual rainfall - 1400-2800 mm

    Best Time to Visit

The reserve comes to life between March-June, when the summer heat gets the tiger to the lakeside. Sightings of migratory birds are high between November-February.

Corbett remains open to tourists from 15th November to 15th June. The main reason for closure of the Park during the rest of the year is that during the monsoons most of the roads get washed away. Repair work starts after the rains end and it is only by November that roads are back in motorable condition.

    Clothing

Light cotton during summers & heavy woolen during winters. Carry appropriate rain gear during monsoon. It is advisable to wear earthy tones of brown and green so as to merge with the environment. Avoid bright colours and strong perfumes.
