Your best option, since several checks mean taxi drivers are hesitant to go to Chakrata. Drive up to Kalsi via Pipli, Yamunanagar and Paonta Saheb. Cross three barriers into Chakrata - the Kalsi, Sahiya and Chakrata gates, which open simultaneously from both ends from 7:30 an till 5:30 pm every 2 1/2 hrs for 10 minutes.
