How to reach

Bekal is located on the Kozhikode-Mangalore-Mumbai route. There are regular buses every 30 minutes from Kanjagad to Bekal. An excellent network of roads connects Kesaragod to major towns in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The ghats en route to Mangalore offer pretty views, but NH17 is a dream (yet another feather in Kerala's cap). Enjoy the drive along the coast from Mangalore to Kasargode and Bekal. En route halt: The Caf Kanstop at Belur, opposite the famous Belur Math right on NH48 serves excellent frappes and even hash browns.
