All-night folk dances such as garba and dandiya-raas are organized by the royal family at the Laxmi Vilas palace. In addition, several garba mandals and garba groups organize their own events on a large scale, no expenses spared. The people of Baroda, especially its women dress up in beautiful traditional wear and dance the night away. The festival ends with Dussehra, followed twenty days later by Diwali.EventsSummer temperatures in Baroda range from 24 degrees to 45 degrees Celsius while winter temperatures range from 31 degrees to 11 degrees Celsius. The average rainfall during the monsoon is 931.9 mm.WeatherIndustrial development in Baroda has brought with it increased pollution, congested roads and with these, the resultant traffic. It has also seen much damage in recent years, first by way of an earthquake and more recently when much of Gujarat was engulfed in communal riots.
