Bus Stand
It has a total of 4 depots. Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has major & minor bus stations, Wayside us shelters and stops, with Subhashnagar bus station (Majestic Bus Stand), Shivajinagar, City Market (Kalasipalyam), Shanthinagar Bus Stand begin the major bus stations.All intercity buses arrive and depart from Bangalore bus stand, which is located opposite the city railway station. Officially named after the founder of Bangalore, 'Kempegowda Bus Station' is more commonly known as 'the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus stand' or 'the Majestic Bus Station'. It handles buses that connect Bangalore to all major cities and states in south India. The main bus stand of 'the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) ,' which maintains bus services within the city, is located next to the Kempegowda Bus Station.
Bangalore has a large bus terminus, which is near the railway station. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses and buses belonging to Tamilnadu and Goa Roadways also operate from here. It is well linked to Mysore (3 hours), Hospet (9 hours), Chennai (8 hours) and Mumbai (24 hours). The KSRTC conducts a number of tours and excursions around the city.

There are two railway stations in Bangalore. The main station is well connected to all major Indian cities. There are number of daily express trains from Bangalore to other cities of India.

Do not let the auto drivers bully you into a fare more than what is displayed on the meter. The city also runs an efficient bus service, but buses are usually crowded and not on time.Bangalore is quite vast and it is not advisable to walk around. One can travel around in the auto-rickshaws, avail of the reasonably priced bus service or hire a private car. Auto-rickshaws are, however, the most popular mode of intra-city travel.
