Bangalore experiences pleasant weather all through the year. Even in April, the warmest month, temperatures rarely exceed 34 degrees Celsius in the daytime, with the average temperature being 27.1 degrees Celsius. Winter months are not too harsh, with the mercury reaching its lowest at 15.5 degrees Celsius and usually hovering around 20.4 degrees Celsius. Light showers and thunderstorms are common all through the year, with rainfall mostly occurring towards the end of the day and at nights. The heaviest rainfall recorded in Bangalore in a 24-hour period was 180 mm on the 1st of October, 1997.
