How to reach

The nearest airport is Dehradun, about 298 km away. Rishikesh, about 235 km away, is the nearest railhead. Regular road services are available from Delhi, Dehradun, Rishikesh and Hardwar to Joshimath, 16 km away.

Bus Stand

Bus from Joshimath (8 km). There are numerous buses of state roadways from Mussoorie bus stand at Dehradun to Mussoorie between 0630-2030 hrs. These go either to the Library Bus Stand or Masonic Lodge Bus Stand. Library Bus Terminal -632238, Kulri Bus Terminal - 632239. From Delhi (300 km) Inter State Bus Terminal there is a morning & night bus service direct to Mussoorie.

It is just 13 km away from Joshimath. The State transport buses and private buses regularly run between Joshimath, Rishikesh, Dehradun and Delhi

Cable Car

Auli is linked with Joshimath with a 3.9-km-long cable car linking, besides the 16-km-long motor able road. You will also find a 500-m-long chair lift linking the lower and upper slopes.Auli

Travel Direction

The nearest airport from Auli is Jolly Grant at Dehradun. Regular direct flights from here to the rest of the country are however few and far between. The nearest Railhead is Haridwar (299 km) with connecting trains between Howrah-Dehradun, Delhi-Dehradun and Mumbai-Dehradun. Alternately, one can take the train to Raiwala near Rishikesh (250 km) and then take a bustourist car in the morning to reach JoshimathAuli by evening. It is advisable to reach Joshimath by 4 pm, from where the ropeway chair can take you to Auli. The road to Auli is closed after dusk. State Transport vehicles ply regularly from Rishikesh to Joshimath (253 km), Haridwar (277 km), Dehra Dun (298 km) and Delhi (500 km).

Aurangabad airport is 10 km east of the city. Regular flights operate from Bombay and Delhi. Although Aurangabad is not on the main railway corridor, a number of trains stop here. There are a couple of direct trains to/from Mumbai. There is a daily train to Hyderabad.

Aurangabad has auto-rickshaws aplenty that ply everywhere within the city. For sightseeing, one would need a mode of transport as the sites are not too close to each other. Taxis are also available from the airport to the town and for travel within the city.
