Tourist places in and around Amber and Jaigarh Fort

Jaigarh Fort

Domination Amber, and probably older, is Jaigarh. This fort has its own set of palace buildings and also the workshops where the fabled Jaipur artillery was cast and machined. The most dramatic product is the Jai Vana, a 50- tonne behemoth that fired an 11 inch- cannonball 35 km. At the other end of the scale Rs 10 will allow you to fire a miniature cannon. The best thing though is the views; note how the outer defence walls followed the hills around. You can walk up to Jaigarh or take a jeep from Jalebi Chowk.
