Location

The district of Agra is situated in western U.P., between 27.110 N and 78.00 E. Its altitude is about 169 metres above the sea level. On the north, it is bounded by Mathura District, on the south, it is bounded by Dhaulpur District, on the east, it is bounded by Firozabad District and on the west, and it is bounded by Bharatpur. Agra is situated on the bank of Yamuna River.

Road

The AC Shatabdi Express (Del- Bhopal- Delhi) leaves New Delhi everyday at 6 am and takes 2 hours to reach Agra Canntt on the outskirts of Agra. The Taj Express leaves Nizamuddin Station (Delhi) at 7:15. These trains make a day trip to Agra possible. Agra is only 200 km from Delhi. You could take a tour bus or a taxi.

Getting Around

There are Taxis, Tempos, Auto-rickshaws and Cycle- rickshaws to commute from one part of the city to another. Prepaid taxis and autos are available from the Railway station. A wide variety of self and chauffeur driven vehicles are available for hire at highly attractive rates at the airport premises. Prepaid transport is also available for excursions in and around the city limits. Bicycles can be hired on hourly basis from different parts of the city.
