The best time to visit Agra is between October and March, when the sunshine is mild and the breeze is soothing. March-April October to March is tourist season in Agra. It is a time when monsoon showers have left the Taj sparkling white and the oppressive summer heat is a long time away. Agra celebrates several fairs and festivals during this time, the most spectacular among these being the carnival-like celebration of the city's ancient culture - the Taj Mahotsav.

Weather in Agra tends to be extreme. Summers are particularly harsh with temperatures rising up to 45 deg C while winters are pleasant in the day with a maximum of 29 deg C and nights are chilly with a minimum temperature of 4.2 deg C. The town experiences monsoon from June to September with an average of 660 mm rainfall.

Climate

The climate of Agra is extreme and tropical. Summers are extremely hot and the maximum temperature can be as high as 450 C, while winters are cold and foggy. Heavy rains and high humidity mark the monsoon season.
