The home of the Taj Mahal. Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the world-the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is located in the city of Agra, one of the most powerful cities in the medieval world. Agra is a part of the state of Uttar Pradesh, in the northern region of India. It is a part of the great northern plains and is situated on the west bank of river the Yamuna.

Agra is, of course, the City of the Taj Mahal, the monument of Love, and because of this many other superb monuments tend to be rushed, if not overlooked altogether. The Agra Fort, for instance, is more interesting and its palace buildings better preserced and more attractive than those in Delhi. The Taj Mahal is described last because it is the latest Mughal building in Agra, and is better not seen first. Take your time; Agra can not be seen in a day.
