Nehru Children's Museum is a project of National Cultural Association that comprises a team of young energetic men under active leadership of Late Jugal Srimal. The Museum was inaugurated on the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 14th November, 1972. The primary objective of the association is to impart education to children through informal means and make the mode of learning more acceptable to the children. Today, the activities of the association have grown to a multi faced trees comprising of social upliftment of poor working women, children and unemployed handicapped youth. Vidyasagar Sishu Academy, Ankur, Vidyasagar Academy Centre for Computer are the key projects of the association those have multiple activities, scholarships and awards, to encourage the children to build their future..

In order to pay homage to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, National Cultural Association established the Museum in 1972 on Panditji's name on his birthday. Today when a child walks into Nehru Children's Museum, he walks into a world of treasure. It touches the imaginative mind and encourages him to know more. The exhibits in the museum which are spread over 4 floors, enable a child to take off to the world of epics, the world of science and to dream world. Dolls gallery, Toys gallery, Ramayana & Mahabharata in clay models are the most fascinating archives for the children.

Dolls from 88 countries are exhibited for the amusement of the children. Very recently Dolls from Thailand have added to distinction of the Doll's Museum.

Toys of oriental and western origins are equally attractive.

The Ramayana and Mahabharata in miniature models create a world for a child where he or she can spend time for hours and learns about our heritage epics.
