It's not just the new lake that's promising to change the face of the Vastrapur landscape, long known as an overgrown village.
Now, Delhi-based real estate player Alpha Buildtech, along with Ahmedabad-based Ruchi Enterprises, is planning a Rs 300-crore mega project 'City Centre' spread over one million sq-ft off the Vastrapur lake.
The project would house a deluxe hotel with a boutique and a spa, for which it's understood to have tied up with 'Ananda in the Himalayas' Cultural & recreational facilities like multiplexes, corporate offices, high-tech IT facilities for corporates, convention and conference facilities, shopping malls and restaurants, among other things are also part of the plan.
The land for the mega project was bagged by the two players after they jointly bid for and won, at an estimated cost of Rs 58 crore, a public auction floated recently by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) for the 34,580 sq-metre plot adjoining the lake.
