Kedartal is a lake situated at approximately 15,000 feet in the Indian Himalayas. The lake is 18 kilometres from Gangotri Several mythological stories are told about the lake and it is among other things known as Shivas lake.

This is close to the temple and many tourists come here to worship This place is also used for bathing A little further, Kedarganga which comes from Kedartal, joins the river Bhagirathi.
