Bahuda Jatra Festivals - बहुदा जात्रा समारोह

Bahuda Jatra is the return car festival, celebrated in the beginning month of Shravan (July-August). The festival, celebrated amid much religious fervor, is attended by thousands of devotees from far and near. Bahuda Yatra or Bahuda Jatra is one of the main festivals celebrated during Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra. In 2009, Bahuda Yatra is celebrated on July 2, Thursday. Bahuda Yatra is the return journey of the three Ratha (chariots) during Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra. The chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra visit Gundicha temple and stay in Adapa Mandapa for a week. After the stay of seven days, the chariots return to Puri Jagannath temple on the ninth day.
