The Miramar Beach counted among the favorite beaches of Goa, is on the way to Dona Paula, 1-km at the forefront of the confluence of the Arabian Sea and Mandovi River. This Goa beach is commonly known as "Gasper Dias".
The word 'Miramar' in Portuguese stands for viewing the sea. It is great beach for romantic walks with your beloved. The 2 km long coast boasts of excellent, soft silvery sand bed that glitter in the moonlight. The beach commands panoramic view of the Aguada fort just across the Mandovi River. It also offers a charming view of the imposing Portuguese fort across the river, known as Aguada Fort. The main attraction of the Miramar Beach in Goa is that it is the favorite place of the migratory birds. At least three-fourths (500 plus species) of migratory birds incorporate the coastline or the coastal plain into their migration routes. The migratory birds, like Plovers and Gulls return to Miramar beach each winter, as it gives them a brief break from the harsh winter back home.
