Dahanu is Udwada - the 'Mecca of the Zoroastrians' - with a large, beautiful temple which houses their sacred fire.
A quaint seaside town with a huge sprawling beach, Dahanu is situated in Thane district. This once barren land thrived under Irani settlers and boasts of some of the country's best 'chickoo' orchards. Quite near is 'Udwada' the sacred town of Paris. It has a large beautiful agiary which has a flame that's has been kept burning for almost a thousand years. A half hour drive down from Dahanu is the even sleepier village of Bordi. The beach is endless and very safe. Its get quite hot in summer. bordi si also known for its boarding schools.
