The beach is only 15 km from Panjim, the capital of the state of Goa. To reach the Baga Beach, one has to stride through the tapered road leading past the Bom Viagem Convent along the cashew-covered foothills, which leads to the springs at Mottant. This is an ideal place for picnics and bathing, as the water is believed to be medicinal. Overlooking the village and the Arabian Sea, at the Baga hilltop is the Baga Retreat House dedicated to St Francis Xavier. The place is also known as the Casa de Retiros.
They love to indulge in the numerous water sports offered by the beach, along with the fishing trips organized here. The restaurants that have been set up here, said to be amongst the best in Goa, serve as an added attraction. You will find every type of eating joint here, right from the usual shacks found at every beach to bustling pizza corners to the terrace cafes. Even the cuisine offered by them is quite varied. Baga Beach is about 10 minutes from Mapusa, and 30 minutes from the state capital, Panaji. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Baga and Calangute. Most buses from Panaji stop at Calangute and a few footslog further up to Baga. Mapusa is around 8 km away from Baga.

By Air
The rock-strewn and wooded headland of the beach seems to be dipped in an air of tranquility.The nearest airport is at Dabolim, which is 29 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour drive away from Baga.
By Rail
